Eid Prayer/Eid ki Namaz

Salat al-Eid, or the Eid prayer, is a major religious observance for Muslims around the world.  It is performed on the day of Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha, marking the completion of Ramadan and the Hajj pilgrimage, respectively.
Joining this congregational prayer is highly recommended, it symbolizes the Muslim community’s celebration and unity.
After the prayer of Fajr, Muslims start getting ready to offer Eid ki Namaz. People go to huge grounds and some go to Mosques to offer prayer. The method of Eid prayer is different from daily 5 prayers / Namaz of the day.
Before going for Eid prayer, you must pay Fitrana which Allah said in His Holy Quran;

“Believe in Allah and his messenger, and give charity out of the (substance) that Allah has made you heirs of. For those of you who believe and give charity – for them is a great reward.”

How to pray Eid prayer/Eid ki Namaz ka Tarika

Both Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Adha have same method of eid ki namaz(Eid ki Namaz ka Tarika). You will get brief knowledge how to perforn Eid Prayer by continuing reading below.

  • When you are ready to go to the place of prayer and you come outside of the house and start walking towards the Mosque or Ground you might recite the following Takbir which is;

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ. وَاَللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ
Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, there is no god but Allah. And Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest and to Allah belongs all praise.

  • You have to recite this Eid Takbir until you reach the place and also recite throughout the Eid night.
  • Keep in mind that Eid ki Namaz cannot be offered alone, you can offer Eid Prayer in a group of people or with Jamat.
  • There is no Azan for this Namaz and no one recite Akamat before Jamat.
  • First of all you will make your intension like other prayers that you are now going to offer Eid ki Namaz.
  • There are two Nafals which are Wajib and contains six extra Takbirs in it. Three out of six are said in first raka’at after reciting Sanaa and before Imam start Qira’at the surah and the remaining three are said in second raka’at after when Imam ends Qira’at and before going to Ruku.
  • When these extra Takbirs are said, you have to wave your both hand up-to your both ears and then tie both hand below your belly button or accordingly.
  • You will Dua right after when you have offered your Eid Prayer and you can also Dua after Eid Khutbaat.
  • It is time of Qaboliyat, whatever you will seek, Allah Almighty will bless you with that.
